Children

Gene and Judy had three children.  From these children, they had ten grandchildren.  These grandchildren in turn produced thirteen great-grandchildren.  Gene knew all his grandchildren, although the oldest was only 18 years old, and the youngest not yet 2 years old, when he passed away.  Unfortunately, he did not know any of his thirteen great-grandchildren, although Judy knew and loved them all. All of Gene's grandkids agree that he is always watching over his entire brood.

His grandchildren, son-in-law, daughters-in-law and grandchildren were very close and special to him, as was he to them.  A special person, as Gene Closson was claimed to be, at least within the Church, Lamoni and College communities, is often not as close to his family as Gene was.

On October 26, 1930, Judy gave birth to their first child, Edward Eugene.  He was born in Independence, Missouri. 

In 1952, Ed married Helen Marsh. They were divorced in 1968. They had two children:

On September 5, 1969, Ed married Sally Carol Warnock in Blue Springs, Missouri.  They had two children:

On March 29, 1935, Judy gave birth to a girl, Mary Jane.  She was born in Leon, Iowa

In 1954, Mary married Chester White, her high school sweetheart. They had three children:

James Travis ("Jim")

On September 9, 1936, Judy gave birth to a boy, James Travis.  He was born in Leon, Iowa. 

In 1956, Jim married Eleanor “Ellie” Lynn Shippy, a girl from Davenport, Iowa that he met at Graceland. They had three children:
